THE ORGANIZATION OF CHESAPEAKE BAY WATERCOLORISTS
For the past 2 1/2 years, a group of us from beginners through very experienced professional have been water coloring at Bow Creek Recreation Center. Each Wednesday we "open workshop" in which we each benefited from such a group, we formed CBW; open to all watercolorists in the area interested in our aims:
* To share ideas and information
* To encourage the development or our individual artistic abilities, regardless of skill level, and our professional skills, through such activates as programs, trips, critiques, workshops, etc.
* To support and encourage other activities and originations which promote the appreciation and recognition of watercolor painting.
To make start-up money, we had a booth at a local church Flea Market. Barbara Preston did a demo and raffled 2 pictures. We set our dues at $10.00 - September - September. Monthly program money will come from the treasure and possible extra "donations" form non-members and members. Workshop fees and expenses (other than announcements, information and publicity) will be from individual participates of the workshop. We want programs and workshops that are of interest to all levels.
Each of us has worked hard to get us to the present point. All is a basis for further development. We desperately need help in all jobs. All present offices and chairman are "temporary”. As you know, getting started is much harder and time consuming that continuing. We welcome your ideas and suggestions and know as an active member you will use your skills and abilities to support them. Chesapeake Bay Watercolorists is not sponsored my Virginia Beach Recreation Center. We have no priority in their scheduling. However, after their quarterly programs is setup. If a room is available. We may use it. All the people from Bow Creek Center have been most gracias and helpful in every way. From all of us who have been working with the Center we say "thank you". We are really appreciative of everything they have done for us.
